Potential 1190 SX buyer - few questions

    Hey all,

I totaled my Buell xb, so I'm looking at either another xb lightning, or possibly a EBR 1190SX. It's a little more expensive, but it's newer, more powerful, and with more features, so I have a few basic questions that basically revolve around there being no corporate structure:

How do 1190 owners handle warranty concerns?
If there are EBR specific replacement parts needed (cosmetic, mechanical), what is the procedure?

and maybe the most important question:
the seat height of the SX is about two inches higher than my previous xb9sl. Is there any way to get that a little lower (either through the suspension or the seat itself)?

    Thanks,
    William

Seat appears to thin to modify/lower, rear subframe cant lower, and I have not seen any after market lowering options.
There is no warranty, parts or service. Either do it yourself or pay up.
A lot of 1125 part interchange over, the 1190 parts some are still available through parts unlimited, body parts mostly for tye RX can be gotten from hot bodies, and I heard the company that made the EBR stuff will make parts in bulk upon request. Most of the 1190 specific stuff required to be ridable is in the engine.

I'm picking up my check from Progressive for my totaled Buell tomorrow. If I have time, there's a 1190SX at a dealer about an hour away - I'm going to try to check it out before another appointment I have at 1pm.

Hopefully the bike will fit me decently.

    Thanks,
    William

I'm a short guy at 5'7" with a short inseam and honestly I felt like the 1190SX was more comfortable and fit me better than my XB9SX and the 1125CR. The seat isn't bad at all either. I'd go check it out. You may be surprised at how good it feels.

If you can get a good deal on the 1190, it's an amazing machine. I wrenched enough on the 1125 to feel comfortable doing (most of) my own work since I bought after the shut down.
I think the seat is more comfortable on the 1190 than the 1125, but from an old guy/broken body perspective I kind of wish I'd gone SX instead of RX - but that's what was local and cheap

Parts replacement is a concern, but I figure if it goes down, it's a total loss and there's a check coming......

The EBRs in my area are selling for $9500 for demos and $10500 for new, the dealer said they would stand behind the bikes they sell, but the problem is parts...but
there are enough owners on this site and I'm sure they can and will help with any issues, post pics when you pick it up.

I'm at the dealership now. It's a 2014 (#145 if I remember correctly) Laguna Blue (they haven't mentioned it being a limited color - but being EBR, I guess they're all technically limited colors now). 14 miles on the odometer. I sat on it and it fits really well - it doesn't feel as wide as my Buell, so I think that's why the extra 2" isn't a big deal.

I got them down from $10,500 to $9,000. I have about a third of it I can put down, so they're looking at my financing options now. If it goes through, my tax return should come close to paying it off next month.

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

If that falls through, I have a red 2014 RX I'd part with. $8500, it's got 4400 miles on it, new tires, new sprag clutch, fresh valve adjustment and the bodywork is like new. It will also have one of my short race pipes on it and the matched pre-programmed ecm already installed. I need to put the bodywork back on it since I just did all the maintenance work to it a couple of weeks ago.
