AMC stuck open on ECMSpy V2

    Hello everyone,

    I have recently purchased a 2006 xb12ss .... such an incredible bike.

I have recently had the CEL light come one which got me to buy a cable and install ECMSPY V2. After some time trying to set up everything and finally running the Diagnostics function on ECMspy, the error code came back as AMC stuck open (DTC 21, Byte 5, Bit 1). The error code remains active after 'fetch' and 'clear'.

I have researched on how to remove it but all speak about having ECMspy in 'professional mode'....to my knowledge this is only for ecmspy V1.

My question is how to remove / correct this issue using ECMspy version 2?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

I have found under 'systems' -- 'exhaust valve' and checked the box 'Close valve on AMC error'. Then went to 'Diagnostics' and tried to clear the error code, but with no success. I am missing anything?

Have you driven the bike at all after clearing the code? You might need to clear the code then ride the bike for a 50miles or so many ignition sequences for the code to truly clear.
Also, is there an option to clear all historic codes?
After clearing the code do you still have the CEL it is ecmspy just telling you there's still a code?

Since trying to clear the error codes, I have only driven it for about 10 miles....I plan on driving it further in the next day or two.

The CEL light remains on after ECMspy.....When I click 'clear DTC', it is removed from the 'Stored Errors' bottom part of screen but remains listed under 'current errors' and remains there even after logging on and off.
