Question What Harley Sportster is the equivalent to the 1997 Buell Cyclone M2

I have a Buell Cyclone M2 I need to rebuild and i cant find any parts for sale anywhere or any OEM part lists or anything. Upon further research I discovered that it uses a custom Harley 1200 Sportster engine from what i read over the past few hours. I understand Buell did alot of work with Harley back in the good ole days, But im having trouble understanding where to find all the cam gears, push rods and a full gasket kit for it. Like is the whole engine a stock Harley 1200 Sportster engine or are there custom parts to it?? where do i find all this information?? I would like it if you can help me find a place to just order parts for the bike, but if you know a Harley Sportster that has the exact cams push rods and gaskets that would be just as fine. Thank you

Try this guy's eBay store, or reach out to him. He has a lot of Buell stuff.

I just bought a Lightning and realized quickly how hard it is to find parts and how expensive they can be. That's why I am not keeping it stock. Good luck.

Tube framed Buells share most parts with sportsters.

AmericanSportBike.com was a great source of buell parts but sadly are closing the middle of next month.

Get in touch with Lance an St. Paul HD lkugler@stpaulhd.com

As far as I know thats where ASB got most of their OEM buell parts. I just ordered a bunch of parts from Lance the other day.

If you can, get your hands on a parts manual. Much easier when talking with the parts guys.

This is also a great website for new Tuber owners to read through- http://www.thex1files.com/

We have some of the hard to find parts in stock and are continuing to find more. I just received 4 skids of buell parts the other week and more coming. Feel free to contact me, lkugler@stpaulhd.com or 651-738-2168.
