ASB: Primary Gasket - $17.40 ;)
Where does anyone get a primary cover gasket without going back to the dealer???? My dealer is more than 60 miles away.
ASB: Primary Gasket - $17.40 ;)
are you talking about the (big) primary cover or the(small) primary inspection cover ??...
if you mean the (small) primary inspection cover .
if you mean the primary inspection cover then it best to replace it but it could be reused if it is not dirty, or damaged or bent or dented or kinked or cut up or anything like that... ,it will be fine to REUSE IT , JUST pat it dry with paper shop towels to get off any oil on it. there is basicly no oil pressure against it only oil splashing & side sloshing on it and the cover . if it does leak it will propably only sep a little out not much at all , just make sure you have the covers' torx screws properly torqued it to about 84-108 inch pounds (7-9 foot pounds).
it is a gasket type made of thin metal with fiber(paper) pressed on both sides. if you wanted and had proper tools and patience you could find some gasket material of same type and thickness and cut one out yourself just make sure it has no burrs left on it, but it would be just as cheap & quick to order a new one.
Cool....Thanks Guys:)
Can I reuse old gasket for primary cover? Will it leak? It looks like there is no Buell XB gaskets on the market anymore.
Can I cut primary cover gasket using rubber sheet?
Will RTV silicone gasket maker work for this purpose?
