it's a 450cc, 1 cylinder dirtbike...

"What the release of the 1125R says - along with the announcement we made is January, that we'll be releasing a dirt bike within two years - is that Buell is a full-blown American sportbike company."

Buell Dirt Bike Program Shelved

Buell Motorcycle Company says it is shelving its off-road motorcycle development plans for the foreseeable future. Earlier this year, Buell announced plans to enter the closed-course, competition use off-road motorcycle market.
"Buell has made the business decision to focus resources on its street motorcycle business, including continued development of the XB line and the launch of the all new 1125R superbike platform," Buell president and COO Jon Flickinger says. "Buell customers and dealers have expressed incredible excitement for the new 1125R superbike and our entry into the mainstream sportbike market."
It was February when Buell announced its intent to bring an off-road motorcycle to market.
their sales are doing pretty good...i'm guessing they are pretty busy with the launch of the 1125r and keeping up with the demand.
The July 2008 issue of Motorcyclist has an interview with Jon Flickinger (Pres and COO of Buell). He pretty much said the dirtbike project was looked at and they decided not to go ahead with it. They want to concentrate on street. This issue also has an article with Erik Buell. It is basically a huge history lesson. Even more exciting Flickinger said the focus will be on streetfighters.
I was hoping on that becoming reality with a spin off of a Motard like the DRZ400SM. Then a hypermotard with the 1125R motor in it. :D
Some useless info: While waiting for a possible "Buell off-road" I had a few adaptions on my Ulysses as seen on the photo's below:
