Brand new race muffler on ebay!

I've literally hurt my head trying to understand why the race muffler is so desired. It performs HORRIBLY mid range, it does not sound great, it weighs a ton and it costs a fortune. IDK, I guess it is desired because it is a rarity? Like a rare stamp or baseball card? The world may never know...... But as soon as one of these things pops up on ebay, Buellers go ape sh*t, it is quite a phenomenon. Buellers will pay top dollar for race pipes that are banged up to hell and look like crud. Then they tout around their race pipe like it's the cat's meow. i just don't get it....

This is a bit of an eye opener for me and interesting to hear all the opinions, its crazy how some stuff enters the realm of myths and legends i guess its down to the word "race" we all know that adds at least 50mph when you`re up the pub drinking! Lol
