I think I will definitely consider a move to North Carolina, looks like there are nice people there.

Well, since we have gone on to oil. I am no engineer, just a plain old joe, but I Use different oil vicosity mixtures for different times of the year in the primary as well as the engine. All the oil I use is Mobil 1 Synthetic and I ride all year round in Texas from 30F all the way up to 110F. In the winter I use straight 20W50 V-Twin in the primary, and 50/50 mix of 20W50 and 15w50(SilverCap) in the motor. In the summer I use about 6 to 10 oz's of 75w90 gear oil and 22 to 26 oz's of 20W50 in the primary, and straight 20W50 in the motor. Why, because I like how much smoother the bike operates at the different temps, especially shifting, warming up the bike, etc...
I also do something similar with my 07 Tiger 1050, 60/40 mix of 10w40t and 15W50(Silver Cap) in the winter. 50/50 mix of 10w40t and 20w50 vtwin in the summer. Both bikes I tour 2 up loaded down, as well as commute to work, and ride to my limits on weekends when I have time. It is all about how smooth it shifts, motor runs during warmups, etc...
