Want to Buy xb12 Airbox cover ("good" shape will get painted)
Looking for a airbox to paint as an extra set for my uly. No cracks or huge gouges, but i dont want to waste a premo one on painting it either. Must have the fuel cap bezel. No translucents they are a bit harder to work with for painting. Dont want to spend a ton either. please drop a note on the thread

Thanks cooter! Can't wait till it gets here so I can start thinking up my new paint job.

Cool! It's ugly now, but a decent sanding job to get the old rattlecan paint off and you should be fine. Send finished pics!

Well here's what I'm starting with folks. The fly screen came to me coated with rattle can black and rattle can bed liner. Which both came of with a bit of solvent. That air box is going to take some serious sanding, that paint is thiiiiick! It's all good. Thanks again cooter!

Can you believe someone did that on purpose? Fugly, right? Hit it with really wet 180 on a DA sander (but don't dig in!), it will come right off. Hand sanding would be a PITA.
I also have an XB windscreen hacked from a scrap piece of aluminum, and covered with faux armadillo skin cut from a maybe a purse? JK, Going in the bin...

No worries cooter. I paint cars for a living. I've seen even worse paint pass for "pro" body shop repair. Might even use some plastic safe stripper to save some sanding, but that usually ends up messier than its worth.
