    08 XB12SCG Rebuild

Well, I finally dragged what was left of my 08 XB12SCG into the garage and started to rebuild it. Just getting it mocked up for now to make sure I get everything I need for it. Then it will all get painted/powdercoated/anodized and the engine and transmission will be rebuilt. I plan to use this as my "custom" bike, so it is getting a SS swingarm, a slightly built engine, and some other goodies. So far I basically have a rolling chassis, replaced the swing arm and forks.

    After the crash

And the beginning of the rebuild

    Next steps
    Check wiring
Start the engine to check it's condition
    Get a tail

did the crash take a chunk out of your rear wheel as well?

It doesnt look like the frame took a hit.

Yeah, potentially a hit and run on the freeway, no one saw how it happened, but I'm pretty sure I was clipped. Yeah rear wheel is broken, even in the rebuild pics, it works for now to roll it around. I have another set waiting to be powder coated. The swing arm was bent and broken in 2 spots. Surprisingly the frame didn't get a scratch.

I remember you showing me the mystery red spot on the airbox cover.

I'm sorry that happened. I'm just happy you're on the mend and in once piece.

Someday, we'll have to take the bikes out for a run around the city.
