My 2009 XT did not have a comfort kit. Unfortunately.
Did all the 2009 models come with the comfort kit updates or was it a mid-year change? Thanks.

the answer is no.
why are you asking?
New 12xt owner. May be not be asking the right question. I read there was a change in the way the cooling fan operated that was implemented for the 2009 model.
The 2010 models got a slightly bigger RSS.
OEM cooling fan operation is that the fan runs during riding and when the motorcycle is turned off until the acceptable temp is reached. Fan operation is controlled by the ECM and can be modified. After market ECMs like EBR and IDS have modified fan operating protocols.
So there was no change to the stock ECM for the 2009 models relating to the fans operation?
I'm pretty sure the answer is no. However, OEM ECMs can be modified with programs like ECMDroid, so if you are concerned about it, you can get a dongle and use ECMDroid to see what your limits are set to....
Thank you. I've had a few 1200 Sportsters, but this is my first Buell. Seems like I've got a lot to learn.
You've come to the right place for help. There's a lot to research in theses archives. Typically I'll google: "BuellXB Comfort kit" in a question like yours. Vary the words as you see fit. If you hit a wall there's some good advice from some of the old timers on board here.
