Took Bubbles to "Femwalla". Its an all girl track day at the VERY nice Chuckwalla Raceway. Wow! 53 girls, some new riders, and a whole lot of them were FAST. It was really inspiring to see these ladies hauling butt and (ahem) not one single red flag all day, lol. Us guys have some lessons to learn.

They hosted a nice dinner that night and a big raffle! Guess who won THREE more track days? Add that to the 4 pack we EACH bought at the IMS show and thats, uh... a lot of track days coming. Holy lord we'll be busy. I might as well get my WERA racers license (if I can keep the rubber down). Ol' high side Cooter better learn how to ride.

Riding on that high, Bubbles went over to Kawasaki and fell for the Ninja 400 she's been test riding. She likes the R-3 she's been renting, but LOVES the 400. Over 2 days(!) we got screwed around at the dealer so bad we walked out. What a shame. I know there isn't much profit margin on a little bike like that but we went in prepared to pay MSRP and couldn't even do that. All the games they play are so stupid. Oh, THAT one on special we texted you about yesterday isn't here, THIS ones on special for only $500 more, Oops! it's listed wrong, but THIS one is (for $1000 more) UGH! Can she just PAY for it and go home??

But she did get a call back two days later with an apology from the GM of Del Amo motorsports. I have been buying bikes from there since the 90's and TWO locations ago... with mixed results and never got treated this well.
he said the bike was indeed listed wrong (as on a rebate) on their website. He did the honorable thing and gave her the 2020 special color bike WITH the rebate She also qualified for 0%. Oh Hell yes, we'll be right there

At her first track day at Buttonwillow, Bubbles had won a dyno session at a local high end M/C shop and was generous enough to give it to me

The EBR has been running well but I took it just to double check the IDS tune (and my work, lol). The shop was nice and had the Holy Grail HP4, and some sick Panigales!

Runs smooth and strong. You can hear the exhaust popping on decel too. I know its a whole different part of the map than WOT, but it makes ya wonder.

If you can't read the pics, its about the HP I expected at 158 RWHP and a really, really nice curve, but WTH with the AFR at 18-22!?

That is engine catastrophic demolition range
With 3 days 'till track day I had my work cut out for me. The IDS ECM is the only mod to programming and I have faith it's ok (but a double-check is always prudent). I had recently done the valve adjust so I needed to re-check my work as well. Immediately.

I put a call in to Tim at IDS and tore apart the top end of the EBR. Three times. A flashlight, dental mirror and touching ALL of the intake system again proved it was assembled correctly (whew!, embarrassment avoided) and I got a call back from Tim, late night (for him), and super helpful. Man those guys are soooo nice.

He concurred what I thought that theres NO way the bike would run that well, that lean. So what gives?
I rented a Vitpilen 701 for the trackday to relieve some schedule pressure and sent a note to the shop to plan on re-dynoing the EBR again with WB O2's in the stock bungs instead of the sniffer in the tail pipe.

Of course I'll post up what I find (just try and shut me up! but I do have the confidence it was just a weird mistake/anomoly by them.
