You can change the rocker cover gaskets on a tuber without the engine rotation.
Pretty certain he's right! Rocker box gaskets are a cake walk. Search the threads on the forum lots of right ups. Basically the same on a tuber excluding all the rotation crap, which isnt hard either. get a service manual yet? biggest issue i had doing mine was having to go buy a smaller torque wrench...
Yep just did them on my 00 M2. Plenty of room with the tank off.
ginger: having owned and wrenched on bikes for over 50 years now.......please allow me to make a few succinct suggestions that will not only prove valuable to you during your buell ownership period but will also hopefully put an end to most of these ridiculous questions you're flooding the board with:
1-you stated you've procured a "tuber" service/shop manual. read the "rocker cover" section/gasket replacement. it is a very simple straight-forward procedure which will answer all your questions.
2-if experiencing angst or trepidation taking on this simple project then seek out a local sportster guru in your area who's done these gaskets. on your bike the procedure identical and he can walk you right thru it in a few minutes or even assist.
