Just picked up an 03 XB9S

    Hello All,

I just picked up this 03 XB9S with 2700 miles on it.

Love love love this bike. My bike history is all sport bikes, Aprilia Mille, 999, TL100R and a Triumph Daytona 955i.

Have to say, early review- this is about as fun a bike as I have ever ridden.

Look forward to learning more and beginning the mods.

It better be clean! It's been garage art for 14 years!!!
It's gonna take some maintenance, but it looks like it's been inside so good for you. Check the MFG date on the tires (over 5 years...), and expect to replace lots of rubber stuff, fuel pump/filter/sock, ALL the fluids (Brake, primary, oil, fork), wheel bearings and steering neck bearings, lube the cables, heck... lube everything...

Sure looks nice in the photos! Take some of the you on the bike, very far from home

Great find! I'd leave it pretty much as it is. These bikes are hard to find unmolested.

Is it normal for the stock mirrors to vibrate so much they are basically useless?

Yep on the vibrating stock mirrors. My experience is that bar end mirrors work much better than stock.
