Last Monday I had my first track day with the XB9 primary drive. Wow what a difference. Thunder Hill has 2 tracks, one is pretty fast with longish straights and the West track is full of flowing turns. I had been only using 3rd and 4th on both tracks. Monday we had both tracks together making the longest track in the States, 5 miles of fun. I was able to use 5th on the long straight and rear kink of the big track and also on the short straight of the smaller West track. It sure helped in making it so much harder for the imports to pass in between corners. Also a great drive out of corners in 3rd making corner exit passes easer. I'm looking forward to some engine work and chain drive.
I'm still getting a little brake fade so it's time to try another pad. Currently using EBC GPFAX pads. I think I'm going to try Galfer 1300 pads next.
