    Headlights

    Hey all,
I have one other problem, and I am not sure if it can even be helped. My head lights; I do A LOT of rural riding. These country roads play hell with me seeing in the dark. Is there any way that I can elevate the light cluster to see further out ahead of me?
    Thanks for the help,
    Walter

Check out the headlight section in the service manual.
Go to www.buellmods.com and download a manual.
Should be fairly easy to make the adjustment you need

There are little holes in the sides of the front cast piece that holds the headlight for the headlight assembly pivots. Guess what. They are T27 torx. Loosen those slightly.
Then under the headlight, right between the 2 lights is the third bolt (also T27) with a slot to adjust the unit.

Careful though, the bolts all go into nuts that are captured by the plastic in the housing and are notoriously over tightened=PITA if they spin.

The bolts are the #3's at 9A

I had to google "Buell headlight adjustment" to get that pic.......

    Cooter,
That's AWESOME thanks for the information and the help. I will let you know how it works out in a day or two. The next question, is what do I need to remove to get to the T27 bolts. I figure it out and let you know. Thanks again.

I tried to get the get a service manual from www.buellmods.com and everything that I tried to get turned out to be; what seemed like dead-end links. I will try again. is there any specific link that you recommend?

You might want to consider upgrading to LEDs lighting, Here are the ones I installed in my 12scg

Thanks for the link. The only problem is that it did not go to any website. I will try a cut/paste modification to the URL to see what I can get to then.
    Thanks for the help,
    Walter

Try Buelltooth.com for the manuals. I know those links work.

You don't need to remove anything to get to those bolts. Like I said, "There are little holes in the sides of the front cast piece that holds the headlight for the headlight assembly pivots"

I meant to post this link for you last time. A free mod that does help a bit.

Once you put some HID's in (or even now), you can do the dual headlight mod for both lights on. Makes a huge difference. If you do decide to do it, I think I still have the relay with wires still attached from when I did mine. I recently removed it to put on some retrofit projectors, so now I have dual low and high beams.
