X1 Lightning rear shock front mount

I know the OEM shock had a recall/upgrade form the 16" to the 14.7" rear shock with included the upgraded shorter front shock mount. This upgrade has benefits when upgrading to the shorter OEM shock. But, is there any benefit in upgrading the front mount to the shorter bracket when upgrading to an aftermarket shock? Or is the shock length irrelevant at that point?

I would say the shock length is irrelevant. I believe if you get a Penske, you can order it in either length to fit with whatever front shock mount you have. I have a 99 X1 with a 16" shock so I got the 16" Penske.
