Foggy airbox cover
I ordered a replacment airbox cover. It showed up quickly. The previous one had broken at all contact points. When the new one arrived the Buell stickers were not on straight. I decided to peel them off.
I went to Wal-Mart for Goo Gone. When they sold me was, apparently not the same stuff. It seemed to work pretty good. In the am when I went to ride it, I noticed a foggy and scratched look to the cover where I'd tried to remove the gummy stuff.
I've tried to upload a picture. The product was Goof Off.
Can I correct the foggy look by using a foggy headlight repair kit? Or something similar?
Another ding ding move,
Jesse

Yeah, Goo Gone and Goof Off are completely different. Goo Gone is citrus oil based. Goof Off is Naphtha (solvent) based. You have crazed your plastic. It is basically tiny micro-cracks caused by the plastic absorbing the solvent. You can try wet sanding and polishing, as long as the crazing doesn't go too deep into the material.
