The site specifically notes NOT for XB9 or XB12 (1991-2003 Sportster & Buell (except XB9 & XB12 Models))

I’m pretty sure that replacing the shift drum(the part in the link) requires splitting the engine cases.
That means an entire engine rebuild on a 2003 or newer Buell.
Not sure how “rough” your transmission is but unless you’re already splitting the cases to replace transmission gears, that upgrade would never be worth it on a 2003 or newer Buell.
And that’s IF the part works for those models
Now on the old school tuber Buell’s, with the transmission “trap door”, this mod wouldn’t be too bad. That’s probabky why the part is listed the way it is and specifically states not for xb. The xb models came out around 2003.

what joe and carlos said. will NOT work on any XB model and if it did would involve monumental work on your part to install and set up. if you correctly perform the below your XB should shift like a dream. it will never be jap-bike smooth but will be vast improvement over showroom new.
1-install 1 quart amsoil 20wt-50 cycle oil in primary after full over-nite drain of whatever is in there.
2-adjust clutch pack tension screw. full out CC till slight tension felt...then in 1/2 turn and replace spring and derby cover.
3-adjust clutch cable AFTER lubing same along with lever/perch pivot point
4-make sure shift lever/linkage is tight and properly adjusted so you get full shift throw/engagement with your left foot.
