    I'm getting a sense of Deja-vu...

That won't work on an XB. It says so right in the description of fitment:
    "1991-2003 Sportster & Buell (except XB9 & XB12 Models)"

Yeah, and if it's not running good it's a nightmare on two wheels to figure out, if it s running good, it's a nightmare on two wheels to keep it running well. Most worrisome to me would be the crank being made lighter, in 08 they made the crank stronger ( heavier ? ) for extra strength. If someone does there own work and builds this, they know what they put into it and where the trouble spots are, if any, I've learned to stay away from stuff like this unless one is an expert or needs parts.

That's a lot of $$$ for about 30HP, a person must really love their machine to spend that kinda money.

I love my sporty enough to modify it. (89" stroker kit, 96hp, 101 ft-lb's at the rear) but like njloco says, you have to know what was done to the bike or someone else working on it will not be able to keep it running right (I have a detailed list and always take it to the same guy who did the work). Yes it was costly, but Santa Cruz HD's bankruptcy saved me 80%. (not as costly as the modes above)

Don't think of it as 30hp. Think of it as 30% more HP and it starts to make sense.

But, ya. The last decade has made HP cheap and reliable. Crazy you can buy an almost 800hp(!!!) daily driver for way less than 100k.

A good friend just had this built last year. It's only a 477ci BBC but makes over 3100HP!!!! 6.5hp/ci is a stunning number.
