    Hello!
Does anybody know what SPAL fan model is used on XB12R 2005? So that i could replace the fan itself without replacing the whole assembly. There should be something compatible and easily accessible for autos etc. Need to know before removing because i have to do it in one step remove-replace-install. Here in Russia the assembly costs 500$ at HD service for order only. Anyway don't want to wait for months.
    Thanks a lot!

send me a pm as a reminder and I'll check the model number on my spare and see if I can come up with a compatible one.

I'm assuming ours is a 4" fan, but I'm not entirely sure

I'll still check later for you.

xb9rs, I think he's looking for the reference because he's in Russia and he doesn't want to wait for it to ship.

I know, but if he can't find anything it beats buying from the dealer.

The SPAL number on the XB fan is VA48-A101-46S but that corresponds to the proprietary unit only available through Buell.

Here is a link to a SPAL fan that has a very similar part number and size and the 3 screw motor mounting is also similar: http://www.spalautomotive.com/files/...7-A101-46S.pdf

The fan blade is molded onto the motor shaft so you would have to be extra careful removing the fan and possibly use epoxy or something similar to reattach it to a new motor.

    Thanks a lot to everyone!
Especially for that part number. Local SPAL asked to call tomorrow.
Seems to be 130 mm.(by blades). Somehow thought to remove those 3 screws and replace the fan assembly.. or brushes? ) Am i wrong? Really need to remove it to see :(
I'd prefer VA31-A101-46A - it has greater airflow.
Don't want a used one - mine is 7500 miles old and dying - seem to be unfortunate enough.

Hm, it works sometimes without touching it.
