    Harley v Pres

What is this craziness it the news of Harley v Trump?

You think Harley's business practices are the problem, or do you believe that Trump's policies are the problem?

I personally don't think it is either or.

Lots of things going on and the trade issues are at the root of the problem. IMO. Those issues go back many years and many administrations.

Every country uses tariffs to make domestic products more affordable, but raise a stink when other countries do the same. It's a never ending cycle with no winners.

    It's also a bargaining tool.

The hand writing was on the wall with Harley-Davidson. (With all of the layoffs and consolidations that have already occurred, coupled with the tax breaks that were given.)

Trump gave them an opportunity for a scapegoat.

If you look at governments, when tragic news events occur, that is when unpopular important bills get passed. That way the press and the people are oblivious to what has happened.

With businesses, it's the timing of government imposed regulations, tariffs, and stock market financial cycles in which they justify unpleasant labor news to save face and point the finger.

It's really simple, other countries have been soaking us for $ using tariffs for decades ! We're the bottom less pitt that keeps on giving, Trump called their bluff when he said, we could do away with tariffs all together if everyone else does it also, you could have heard a pin drop, the silence was deafening !

Harley is going down the tubes so now, at the worst time to move off shore, out f country, they make the decision to move manufacturing out of country ? They've made some of the worst business decisions in the past ( like getting rid of Buells ) and now they're paying for them, they could only be held up by their customer base for so long. With the millennials taking over now, they're doomed !
