Cutting Out on more than half throttle after engine rebuild
I need some help. I did a top end motor rebuild on my 2004 XB12R and the motor cuts out on more than half throttle. The motor won't fire until I fully close the throttle and then it works again. Additioanlly, the idle hunts a little bit when cold. I am not sure if I didn't correctly hook up a connection or if there is a deeper issue. Any ideas are welcome.

Its the linkage on the throttle body hitting the plug on the coil?

I will check on that tomorrow. It didn’t look like it could when I put it together.

Wiring is attracted to hot, sharp, pinch-y areas, and it loves to hide in dark places.

LoL. So I took my air box and the velocity stack was not on tight and corrected that. I double checked all the connections. Only thing suspect is an open port off the throttle body. I check the service manual and it shows it as the California emissions hose port. I do not have a plug or anything on that. It is just open. Is that right?
I gave it another ride after putting back together and it ran very strong. It was stupid hot when I rode it the other day when it cut out.

no...it is not "right". plug it with correctly sized vacuum port plug.
