Motus has a sad ending like Buells

Wow...I guess not surprising given how hard this kind of business is to sustain, but very sad. Here is more on the shutdown.

in all honesty i'm surprised this outfit lasted even 10 years. why?
an engine configuration americans have repeatedly rejected for almost 100 years now. ask Guzzi to confirm this.
redefined sticker-shock. priced themselves right out of any potential target market.
fuel mileage even worse than a V-rod NightRod....if that's possible.
in-person consensus of opinion typically was "my God that's ugly."

Motus was the answer to a question no one asked. America had sport bike and sport touring options in the Buell. That didn't last. Americans could buy a refined sport touring v-four in a Honda ST1300. Americans have all kids of choices when it comes to high end, high priced sport touring motorcycles with better track records and better dealer networks. I am not surprised at the Motus demise. It is a tough market to break into and it have been even tougher as the Boomers age out of motorcycling for good.

I didn't think this one was ugly...

As enthusiasts, we should celebrate and encourage every company that makes a solid effort in the motorcycling industry.
It's hard to do. Ask Erik
