I have a 'thing' for sand dunes. Been riding Glamis, Dumont, Pismo, etc my whole life. I never made it to the Oregon Dunes, and now I'm in a totally inappropriate ride for it

    These trees are ridiculous!
A guy in a gas station 100 miles away told me about a secret road through the Redwoods.

I was gonna stash the bike and camp there but even though I carry (allegedly)... Big Foot would still make me his bitch.

About every 3rd day I like to get a hotel and clean-up and relax a bit. I paid a little more for the "Ocean View" room.

Nice trip - some of my old stompin' grounds (WA/OR) in there as well.

Nice to see marionberry pie again...most folks don't even recognize that varietal. Our favorites (WA state) were marionberries and tayberries...crazy good.

Did you rip the chics back out in pic #3? Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Thanks guys! It really was. I'm assuming about 3600 miles in 3 weeks? I really like to ride
And ya Wicked, I really like to ride

I left the Redwoods and took a locals suggestion to go down 299/3. My inept map/zoom/scale operation left me with the thought it would be a nice mountain detour. It was! But it was all of 350 miles in one day that left me exactly 38 miles further south on the 1 than I started. Holy wow I'd do it again. Once more an empty road with epic curves and the biggest town I went through all day (pop.120) had a freaking Buell Lightning out front of the only open bar! Really nice guy who joined me riding for about the next 20 miles just for fun. He must have a BALL with that bike around there and nothing else to do but burn the edges off his tires

Woke up just at the south end of the Trail of Giants feeling a bit homesick. It had been a very long time since I'd felt my own bed and that blond that Wicked likes so much had been sending enough dirty pics to get this guy on the road home

Totally forgetting I was exactly 200 miles north of San Fransisco and home is basically the LAX airport I was in for a ride. BUT. You don't pass SF at lunchtime without Boudains. You just don't.

Right on Fishermans Wharf and I have a secret to never wait in line that I'm not sharing. Sorry

A very late lunch (3pm) in SF and I still think I can make it home in one long day. Duh.

And you only do the coast because you're hard headed and hate freeways that much. Add 5 hours...

All the 15 mph hairpins are going to be 'fun' in 3..2..1..
