    Those are relays.
Go on YouTube and pick your favorite “how to test a relay” video and run with it.
I’ve never had a relay go out but if I though one was bad I’d just move a relay, that I know is good, to that spot and if the component it controls works, you know the original relay was bad.

they're $6 and change each. NOT worth testing and the test procedure is NOT fool-proof. ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE!
the relays power the start/key switch/ignition circuits.
they are all the same and rated @ 20 amps
factory part # is H-D#31522-00 infinite amount in system as they fit tons of different applications.
they cross-over to common ford and chrysler a/c relays. have mentioned that on here.....oh....about 75,000X now.
    cross-reference relay common part #'s:
    Duralast Part#19389---retails for about 8
    Panasonic CM1-D-12V---""""""""""""""""" 5

and how will you know when a relay is faulty????
all is well but starter button won't energize the starter motor AND the button assembly has been checked and it is ok
key to on....gauges won't sweep....most or all lights are dead.
fuel pump won't prime with red-run switch in on position and pump fuse is ok
cruising along and bike randomly shuts off but lights and gauges continue to function.
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^common faulty relay scenarios.

Thank You! I just ordered 4 relays Hopefully that will start my bike back up.
I installed a new battery backwards. replaced 2 fuses. now I have lights!
Are there any other fuses or relay besides the fuse box?

By installing a battery backwards you can burn up a bunch of things fuses, relays or even your ECM. Hopefully you didn't hurt the ECM.

The ecm is probably ok. Hooking up a battery backwards is not a "short circuit" so it will TYPICALLY only kill the fan fuse and relay

Those are some big words. If all caps is yelling that must be screaming. In the automotive world we see batteries hooked up backwards a lot. And it kills a lot of PCMs.

Having fun with his yelling questions Thought I'd scream an answer

True Outlaw^^^^, but "mechanics charge so much for such an easy job!" haha

Buell specific>>> With so many threads of people buying a (wrong) generic Wal-mart battery with terminals on the opposite side, and not paying enough attention to put the RED with the (+)....

They hook it up, the fan turns on without the key. Odd! but they still turn the key anyway and try to start it...
Pops the fan fuse and sometimes the relay because it's a ground triggered circuit. Occasionally other minor stuff like the fuel pump relay but thats rare I haven't heard of popping an ECM before because of that. It's just reverse current flow, not a over amperage.

But really, who knows? Electrons are pretty negative little bastards
