Silverrider:
I got my 2009 XB12r with just over 500 miles, into California...not a 50 state bike either. It can be done, but you have to be creative.
If I had the sacks (and the room), I'd have already bought that bike. The finance minister has a grip on the left sack and the wife a grip on the right one. But my better senses won't let me buy a bike that will sit out in the rain.
Im Still jealous over that bike
Hehe, understand.
My B-I-L is a local police officer and he just laughed at my method and said it was completely legal for a period of time. Now I'm at over 13k miles and trying to even get in to the DMV to register it in California is almost impossible. I've been trying for months. Had to cancel one appointment and stood in line for hours a couple of other times and left when they closed without talking to anyone.
