Swapping tires ?
So, since I've never done this before, is it a good idea to take used tires with plenty of life left in them from one bike and put them on another ? Might be a stupid question but I've learned in life, better to ask a dumb question than to maybe get killed.

I wouldn’t think so as long as the tire is the exact same size and speed rating as the ones normally used on the bike, or that the bike is set up for.
Valid question.
Putting on a tire that is taller or wider than what the bike/suspension is set up for could cause handling issues.

Like Carlos said......swap away and as long as the date code isn't dated 1800B.C.

Both perfect advise, from the usual suspects ^^^^
Same size, and not old*, go for it
*4 years or less for a performance tire, heavy duty road cruising tires a bit longer, IMO...
