    Oil Leak

Yes, I know very premature. My bike started blowing oil on my track day yesterday. It mostly shows on the right side of the bike down low. Honor the better part of valor I suspended my day @ noon. I'm hoping its an oil filter issue. I did change gearbox oil and wondering if it's overfilled will this be a cause for a leak? Further inspection in a few days with pics. I short shifted all day and concentrated on riding. The bike pulls well down low with deans exhaust.

Primary only takes about 1 quart of oil. On the side stand, clutch inspection cover off (3 bolt cover) fill to the bottom of that hole, replace cover.

It is worth removing the oil filter to check if the old o-ring is still attached. A double gasket there will leak oil. Tug on the oil lines while you're down there too. Good luck!

In my case oil leak comes after honey doos. The dog house here can get crowded.

You would think being married to me for 40 years she would be able to work on my bikes instead of just paying for them. The source of the leak isn't obvious. The top of the crankcase is wet. Base gasket area is dry. The area around the oil filter is wet also. No double o-ring. At an idle In can't spot the source either. Gearbox/primary oil level is ok.
