    Understanding mapping

    Hello again,

I have purchased a basket case 04 Lightning xb12 that I am going to put a Hammer Kit on. This will be a complete lower end refresh with a 1250 on top. Can someone direct me to some resources where I can learn how to map/tune this bike properly.

My Firebolt project is near complete and I am jumping into my next project.

    Thanks for any help.

Since you chose the red pill....

Just some resources I use, in no specific order, and not all inclusive. Be prepared to read. To really understand it, its a learning curve.

How are you going to gain access?
On my 03 XB9R I use a buelltooth adapter, a tablet to datalog and then my laptop to make changes and burn the new map. I use megalog viewer to playback the datalogs, and either ECMSPY or Tunerpro to make changes. I'm more with ECMSPY, but trying to learn Tunerpro. I have the registered version of Tunerpro so might as well learn it.

These links should eat up a couple hours and brain cells.

Thank you for providing that info!

I have a Buelltooth w/ a tablet. I plan on purchasing a TunaBuell to get ready to turn the key 1st time once the bike is together. Now time to exercise the brain!

    Again - thanks

Not knowing anything about mapping or using a computer for messing around with the ECM, I find it amusing that you post up this question on the forum under a topic that is about having problems with the actual forum itself ( technical issues with the forum ), now don't get yourself all worked up, I'm just having a little fun.

Too funny! I hope I pay more attention to learning this stuff than I did the forum title. Apologies for that act of STUPID!

He's talking about people in NJ being the worst for messing with the mapping on their bike. Or something like that... I dunno.
