    Buelltooth not flashing...any ideas?

    Hey guys,

So I just purchased a Buelltooth and it isn't flashing. I've installed w/ power-off, made sure it's switched to run (right-hand control) then turn key to on/run position. Nothing. Bike runs, no issues, but this is the first time I've attempted to service the ECM.

    Though & ideas appreciated,

    Dan

Have you tried to connect to it anyway?

You're doing it right. I'd check for blown fuses first and give them a call.

Test for voltage at the data port maybe? Probably not the issue but an easy check

Forgot to respond to your direct question. Yes, I tried connecting and searching for a bluetooth signal in the off-chance the LED was just out, nothing. I did get a response from Buelltooth and they said all units are tested a few times prior to shipping so I'm going to assume, for now, it's something on my end. He suggested checking for ground issue. I'll try again tonight. Thanks again.

Have you checked the voltages at the connector?

Me thinks pins #1 and 3 are 5v, #4 is 12v and #2 is ground.

Checking and cleaning your grounds is always a good bit of maintenance anyhow.

Yeah, you did. I noticed after I posted, but figured i’d leave it for the voltages.

Just to report back, my issue was user error.

I didn't realize I had to be in neutral to engage the ECM!

So, I popped the bike into neutral and as soon as I heard the fuel-pump fire up the Buelltooth started flashing & works like a charm.

Thanks again, everyone, for the ideas and my apologies for being a newby!

Interesting. I would have never considered that, as I always leave mine in neutral when parked.

Cool you got it figured out! Thanks for reporting back!
