Question Buell X1 Derby Cover (Harley Engraving) - Where to buy

Clearly the parts have dried up for the early lightnings... but does anybody know of a place to buy a Harley engraved derby cover for an X1? Here is a picture of the one I am thinking of... I searched everywhere with no luck.

To be honest, open to other suggestions as well.

I don't know, but doesn't the Sportster one fit?

BadWeb is great for tuber parts.

That specific one went disco a couple of years ago. I had it on my Cyclone. Any 4 bolt Sportster one will work, though.

You may be able to find a dealer that still has an old P&A catalog lying around with that part still in it. You could get the part # from there and have the parts guy run the number to see if VPI has it or if another dealer has an NOS one in the bowels of their parts room.

Excellent! Thanks for all the info. Very helpful.

I have a black X1 - just purchased. And doing quite a bit to it - so ideally the chrome versions I liked the best.

Sir: 1994 thru 2003 inclusive XL sportster clutch covers the same as tube-frame style buells including your X1. some factory info indicates 2004 XL models with build dates between 08/2003 and 10/2003 will also fit your X1 but i wouldn't trust that.
your clutch cover is the "4-hole" model with the "O-ring" style gasket behind it. a bazillion different cover choices online.

REPLACE the cover gasket when installing new cover. H-D part # is 25463-94A....list is $2.39....all dealers in north america stock it.

and by the way....the clutch cover in your pic that you're lusting after? was standard fare on select XL1200 models from 96-99 inclusive....all in satin finish...never chrome. the part is listed NLA....the part # delisted and not available due to lack of inquiries on same.

    buy this one.

    you're welcome.
