The main reason is that it was never for sale.
Buell wasn't ever "for sale". That tweet snapshot shows that the (now fired) CEO of HD kept the (TM) and denied the idea of selling Buell, under the premise that it would be embarrassing to 'The Company' if someone else made Buell a bigger success.
Ever wonder if "The Company" gives a crap about "The American Workers" they shafted, "The Engineer" that built Buell for them, or "The Customers" that wanted their product? Theres your answer.
Harley Davidson is a bunch of greed mongering CORPORATE DRONES who get paid too much money and canned ERIK BUELL for no REASON.
Here is a video where it is all explained (THE TRUTH).
WARNING: DO NOT CLICK THIS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE BUELLS BEING SCRAPPED!!!!

I think incorporating the recurring service and parts revenue streams into the equation might help round out the picture. These might be even more material than initial bike sales, but I don't know the cycle business all that well.

My god you are a really evil mother****er.
Would you rather watch the video of the forklift dropping Buells into a dumpster? Or the guy hucking XB rims in the trash? Instead I gave you a cheery upbeat video.

This is why I will not buy any HD bike.
