Been having starting problems, for a few months...

...comm errors, blanking display, system voltage, some back-firing; now the starter just spins. Tell me SOMEBODY, that is just the sprag clutch, and NOT the starter clutch, before I get, and spend funding, on the wrong parts...

That definitely sounds like the sprag clutch to me. I dont think the starter has its own clutch.

Check out this video... this is probably what is going on with your bike? Take the title of the video with a grain of salt, as the OP realizes that he installed the sprag backwards.

I hope you're correct...I've sourced the parts, trying to sell my only decent rifle to pay for the parts. My 1125R is my horse, my only means to 'get about', passing traffic at will. Walking SUX.

UPDATE: Due to having been furloughed from my job, 'cause of the Covid-19 thang, I finally have put together the funding to get my horse taken to the shop, gets taken-to next week, with the necessary parts, and a new stator cover.
