EBR Front Wheel Swap to XB

As I already posted to my build thread I purchased a new EBR front wheel and planning to install it on my 2010 XB12SCG. This has been done before. But I couldn't really find any specifics on the conversion. So, here I'll chronicle the adventure.

So here's a picture of the new EBR wheel.

The bearings on the EBR front wheel have a 30mm inner diameter while the XB bearings are 25mm. So we're definitely going to need some custom spacers.

It's worth noting the XB's rear wheel bearing has a 30mm inner diameter while the S1, X1 Lightning rear wheel bearings have a 25mm inner diameter. There are currently conversion kits on ebay that allow the XB rear wheel swap to the S1,X1 Lightning.

So I purchased a set for 35.00 and will try and modify them to fit this application.

I grabbed the caliper and took some measurements before I go modifying it.

Here's some measurements on the wheels

I also measured 133.76mm between the forks.

In order to setup the spacer on the rotor side, I laid a ruler across the hub and measured from the ruler to the rotor on the old rim. That measurement came to 17mm.

I installed the rotor on the new rim and did the same measurement which came to 15.72mm

So that tells me the spacer needs come past the hub face by 1.28mm. The inner race to the hub face measured 5.2mm. So I'll have the thicker adapter shaved down to 6.5mm.

Both adapters will get the overall diameter shaved down to 36mm to fit within the bearing seal. Once the work is done, I'll post up the new measurements.
