Got it took it apart and it was just stuck lubed up the cable at the top and middle and it's working good now
intermittently I've noticed my engine light coming on when driving.today it finally said I had codes on start up. So I plugged in my diagnostic tool

Lmao these work perfect for connecting terminal 1&2 together to get your code readout through the engine light.
I came back with 3 codes before they repeated
15 & 33 both of which I think must be in there from when it was apart replacing the fuel pump.
And 15 (interactive muffler control)
So I went fishing under the airbox cover and found it wasnt working.

The jumper method shouldn't show historical codes? Keep an eye on that.
So it only shows present?
Historical codes are in the process of clearing (key cycles/miles) and won't activate the CEL, so the ECM won't display them as current codes...
but I have been "WRONG!" before
So do you think I should test the temp sensor in the airbox
Why? It sounds like you fixed the issue.
You should invest in one of the Buelltooth adapters or cables and get a copy of ECMSpy/ECMDroid. They are very handy to have for troubleshooting. I grew up counting long and short flashes and its only something that appeals to communists and people who still have Commodore 64's. If either of these are you, I am sorry.
edit: I realize you enjoy links, so here you go:

The part numbers for your IAT sensor is : P0138.K or 62115-99Y. If you need a new one, there is a person named Barrett who can get you what you need. He appears to be a fine person and a patriot, from what I hear.

{Bluetooth}
There are cabled interfaces you could use to plug into a laptop via USB which should be available at Amazon.
You seem like a smart guy, you could likely build a bluetooth receiver using an Arduino/Adafruit project board. I'm sure someone has done this before.
I just received a PM from John Barrett and he wanted me to pass along this information. He is a true friend to Buell owners, even the Canukistanians.
