Is something supposed to be here? (pic)

    Hi blokes,

I am taking a few bits off the bike so I can install a Buelltooth / Tunabuell.

Is something supposed to be here? If so, what is it and why would it not be there?

Bike has unknown modifications, but likely has some.

    Cheers!

Bloke: all years XB12-only models came stock with what's known as IEV(interactive exhaust valve) system. through multiple sources of input, the ECM signals the IEV actuator to open and close the exhaust valve which is part of the muffler. perched atop the airbox lid is the component known as the IEV actuator. yours is missing as is the control cable from same to the muffler. also incorrectly routed in your pic is frame vent line.

    this is stock.

    Interesting, thanks for that Barrett.

Looks like deleting the IEV actuator is fairly common when changing exhausts and I can turn off checking for it in the ECM.

    Cheers!

my pleasure sir. with the appropriate diagnostics tool and program...you can turn off the IEV system by checking appropriate block....then check for and clear any existing historical fault codes found in your ECM.
