    Interesting thread. I also have not seen a aluminum SCD, never and I've had my fair share of gearboxes in pieces.

    I think I'll start using the clutch when changing gears.

    I don't know how using the clutch or not would affect any wear on the drum?

    I did trying spinning tire at the same time. Result was the same.

    hmmm, only thing I had to replace on my '03 XB9S were the shift forks. Everything else was normal...she had over 70k on the clock!

    What was the main reason you needed to change the forks? Just curious.

    It is the exact same problem. I had it happen 2wice that it won't go into 3rd gear. look at the picture I posted in my post. It shows 3 shift cams with a black arrow where the exact trouble is with 03-05 XB with aluminum shift cam.

    Just wanted to see if my messages to your question in my Thread went through but can not find any info or record so I am not trying to bother you but am still having my troubles getting around this FORUM at times. I have the FRANKENSTEIN POST----04 XB12 R upgraded to 07. Be glade to share my time wasted and or could be mistakes so you might not have less or NONE..
