    New to Buell community.

    Hi all from New Zealand.
I am about to collect my first Buell. A 2007 XB12Scg 25th anniversary addition with 17,500km on the clock. This will be parked alongside my 2008 KTM RC8, 2009 Yamaha MT-01 and 2018 KTM 790 Duke.
I have been struggling to find any information about the anniversary model and how it is different (if at all) to the "standard" model. Any information on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sir: 2008 is the only silver anniversary commemorative Buell production year.
the 10th digit of the VIN will tell you the correct model year

    Thanks @Barrett.
You are correct. The 10th digit of the VIN is indeed an 8. It appears that the 2008 model was produced between July 2007 and June 2008. It is an import from Japan and had been advertised as a 2007 model. I am happy with 2008 though. Do you have any information on any differences in the anniversary model?

Every 2008 Buell is a 25th anniversary Buell

2008 marked a good year for upgrades to the engine and transmission too:

    Congrats on the new bike!

yes sir, my pleasure. see the link below for some excellent reading. covers most every running model year change across the entire XB model line. the only specific silver anniversary exclusives that come to mind, is badging. example being the handlebar top clamp emblem. the 2008 model year introduction did bring with it some very nice engine/electronics/reliability upgrades and improvements.

You lucky Kiwi!! Are you actually in Tasmania, or just adrift on the Tasman Sea?

I got to backpack around your lovely island for a couple weeks, and it's certainly one of the most beautiful corners of this world. And some incredibly nice and laid back folk.

Also lucky (and ballsy!) to have that RC8. I've got a 790 too that I absolutely love. Handles a lot better than the Buells, but hard to match the rumble of a bona fide V-Twin.

Hi there. I live in the Tasman district which is at the top of New Zealand's South Island. I often think how lucky I am to live in such a wonderful place.
My bikes are all quite different. I really love the 790. I have a big grin on my face every time I ride it. The RC8 is a beast. It doesn't feel comfortable until you reach about 140kmph so I don't ride it a lot as I want to keep my drivers license. The MT-01 is a big softie but handles really well for it's weight (about 250kgs) and produces 150NM of torque so is really easy to get along with. Looking forward to picking up the Buell and will post some photos when I do. In the meantime here is the RC8 and MT-01.

Looks like you found yourself a beautiful one in pristine condition. Lucky man!

I still harbor fantasies about jumping ship and moving to NZ. And taking the motorcycles down there... you'd have blue XB9 to keep you company
