More of a general FYI, not specifically meant for charging your battery in your specific Zip code.

So got a new battery in and idled/revved great up to 5k rpm, then revs died, backfired and engine died eventually. Voltage was between 13.5 and 14 the entire time, and power loss was abrupt at relatively specific rpm's. Every time it would die and backfire the check engine would flash, and it's showing the same code 56 sync failure. Could this be anything but the cam sensor?

Replaced cam timing sensor, runs great again all the way through the rev range.
