    TPS Reset on a 2006 XB9SX

    Hi All,

What is the correct way to do a TPS reset on a 2006 XB9SX. I can only find how to do it on 2008+ models?

(Forum search came up with hundreds of responses and none had the answer I was looking for in the page i looked at.)

    Thanks

    Cad

2008 and up models have the capability of resetting the TPS via activation of twist-grip and ignition/kill switch in proper sequence. 2003-2007 do NOT.
you will need to access your ECM thru the diagnostic port and then run a program such as ECMspy or similar, which allows you to perform diagnostics....TPS resets....read and clear fault codes...change settings and maps...many capabilities and options.

One of the guys on the forum even made a video on how to do this, and posted it in several spots on here.

Let me see if I can find a LMGTFY link for it.

Until then, here is the instructions from the service book. Just replace Digital Technician with ECMDroid or ECMSpy. There are also several places on the web such as rev-mo that did a web page dedicated to the process. In fact, so did Twin Motorcycles. And the above mentioned video.... and heres that LMGTFY link: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=buell+xb+tps+reset

    ADJUSTMENT
    1. Connect vehicle to Digital Technician.
    2. Select calibrations screen/TPS Function.
    3. Select Buell TPS zero tab.
    4. Select TP volts on screen.
    5. See Figure 1-56. Back off idle adjustment until TP volts
    stop decreasing
and then continue to back out one full
    turn.
    6. Open and snap shut throttle control grip 2-3 times.
    NOTE
This is to ensure that the throttle plate is completely closed
    before beginning recalibration.
    7. With ignition and run switch in the on position with
engine off and throttle in the closed position press the
TPS zero button at the bottom of the screen.
    8. Select TPS zero button and perform TPS zero.
    NOTE
When calibration is complete, dialogue box will appear on
Digital Tech screen with message display “Command Sent
    Successfully”. Press OK.
    9. Turn idle adjustment cable screw clockwise until TPS
    degrees read 5.2-5.6 degrees.
    10. Run vehicle until engine temperature is at 285
    °F (140°
    C).
    11. Set idle to 1050-1150 RPM.
