im looking at my front isolator mount and it looks like it isnt screwed all the way in. is this gap correct or does this need some torque applied?

yES, THE REASON FOR THE LARGE HEAD ON THE BOLT IS TO CATCH THE MOTOR IF/WHEN THE ISOLATOR FAILS.

Here is what a brand new one looks like. If the gap isn’t present, it means the rubber bushing has failed and the bolt head is all that is holding the engine from falling out. Literally.

An XB motor is only held in by 2 bolts. Well, 3 if you consider the shock mount.

when iI get the new isolators we will also have a poly "washer" to fill that gap to reduce wear on the islolator

....and add a ton of vibration to the frame... That bolt needs to move a LOT in that mount, it is an "isolator". Watch it work, even at idle.
