I'm just here for the trannys.
I really think we've morally bottom'ed out (no sick sex sh#@ intended). Down here we got a macho sheriff thats facing gay rape, incest, sodomy, & a ton a federal fraud charges as we speak. Its so weird IMO to see how life in former third world ****holes is now far better than our American lives.
I almost forgot, I need to find a container to ship that motor (and tranny) to NY. Dang it!
Barrett I thought that was Bobcat Goldthwait.
1. Although more investigation would be needed. I'd lean towards an intake seal leak. Its not uncommon for these seals to leak on these bike as they approach 15+ years old. They are relatively inexpensive (even at the Harley dealer) but no fun to change on an XB. I'd highly recommend getting a specially bent allen wrench for this job, as well as a set of stubby wrenches and or some offset/bent ones. And lots of patience. You can check the intake seals with some carb cleaner by spraying the area of the intake seals and listening for a change in RPM.

or find a old wrench and cut it down with a angle grinder and cut off wheel.
2. I'd be willing to bet you have a leaky cylinder base gasket or rocker box gasket. This leak is not uncommon for a bike of this age. These are also a pain to change out, and you may want to pull the frame (or rotate the motor) to do this. I recommend removing the frame to do this operation. Also, is your cooling fan working? If its leaking from the rocker box, oil can get pulled into the fan and will ruin it. Fans are no longer available from HD any more, so its worth looking into this sooner than later, if your fan is still working.
If you decide to tackle either of these, I'd recommend to also remove the scoops and take it down to a coin-op car wash with some degreaser. It will make it a lot easier and less frustrating.
