Thank you. I can hear Barrett screaming at you, over the sound of the engine, all the way from Pennsylvania. Please leave smashing redline in neutral to the squids on their Suzukis.

If you are curious if the IEV is working... yes, it is. It would be impossible to see the settings with a RPM sweep like that, so what you are doing is pointless.

If you are still curious about the operation of your IEV you can check it in ECMDroid, without annoying your neighbors, or attempting to show your connecting rods what sunshine looks like.

I realize that these are inanimate objects, but the abuse that some of you miscreants dish out to these poor Buells, never ceases to amaze me. And your "testing method" is not only ham-fisted and worthless, but will often times bury historical FC #21 into the ECM causing unintended consequences.

    Only correct method:
1-kill switch to run....throttle held wide open...key switch to on....observe the IEV actuator cycle thru 1X and 1X ONLY.
2-Any other test exclusive of spy software procedure is invalid.

Thank You for the info Cooter and Barret on how to properly test this without running the motor. Will check for historical codes before I leave work.

I do have ECMDroid and Buelltooth. Is ECMSPY the preferred software to use for checking and testing the ECM as well? The only other one I heard of was TunerPro RT I believe?

Have owned and maintained this Uly for 10 years and have over 67K miles on it so definitely was not intentionally trying to be a knucklehead.....
This is the first time I have had a working IEV valve and stock muffler on the bike and was trying to verify the proper settings.
