I agree, yer Ducati sucks
I picked up this Ducati Monster 620 that needed a fuel pump. Holy f*ck! I will never complain about the XB fuel pump location again. Maybe I just need to lay off the cheeseburgers or back off on arm day at the gym. I guess this was a precursor to what to expect for my “I just turned 50 and need a prostate exam”
TL;DR: if you’re going to replace the fuel pump on a Ducati Monster with a metal fuel tank you’d better have skinny arms. That is all!
I agree, yer Ducati sucks
Just kidding by the way. I do like the Ducatis. What is slightly annoying is the people telling me how much they like my Ducati as I am pulling up on my M2.
No, he was correct, it sucks !
wait a minute, do you have to reach into the gas tank? Maybe you just need a "little" help:

The pump is submerged at the back part of the tank and the only way to access it is from the filler opening. May be a a piece of cannoli for some skinny armed Italian mechanic. But Popeye the sailor man here is not cut out for that job.
The nice thing is that the pump just clips in place. And she need purrs like a little Italian kitten.
Try using "tools" from a "tool box" next time. Specifically little grabby things called "pliers". They make all sorts of them. Long ones, short ones, bent ones, I'm sure theres a pair that would work. Pair is singular BTW, referring to one of these "Plier" tools. These "tool" inventions make mechanical repairs much easier.
