i dont know if it would make much of a difference but the TPD should be about 5 . You could try another tps reset, set the TPD, then adjust the rpm by the idle cable.
Injectors might not be to hard to pull ,check and clean.
I couldnt replace the top seals on the injectors cause they are obsolete, But they didnt look damaged.

He has some diagnosing to do before anyone here can throw anything more than a total guess his way:/

His TPD is 'about 5' already and there is no idle RPM or cable adjustment. It's a ECM controlled stepper motor (IAC). Performing a TPS re-set simply recalibrates the correction value and doing it multiple times does as much as clearing codes does. Nothing.

The "injector top seals" are the same for all XB's and since they are just o-rings, you can get them anywhere. I buy them in bulk for about .03¢ each for Viton.

I just bought a $30 track phone (didnt have any android devices that would work with it) and didnt put time on it since it still works just fine off the wi-fi for its intended purpose. Still data logs etc when riding. I found it to be worth it. Any newer android device with the google play store app will work with it

Back to the original question...is the Buelltooth option "as good as any" for doing work on my recently purchase Uly? Or is there another option that may be preferable?

It's effectively just a universal Bluetooth module and a 5VDC voltage regulator soldered together.

Could you get one from an off-shore source for slightly less? Maybe. Could you even make one yourself? Probably.

Is it worth penny pinching a $48 quality part from a well known company that also gives you access to a whole encyclopedia of fuel maps for free?

I wasn't aware of the maps issue. Yes, I could definitely make one (for about $8 in parts plus shipping based on when I last checked), but...would it? I have enough other projects. With support for Buells getting slimmer, I'll toss some $ their way. In fact, I already have...ordered it right before posting this.

Well, I know how to make beer pretty cheap. Should I? Happy Oktoberfest

I don't think Rev-Mo is hanging out with Besos on his spaceship quite yet by selling a $48 tool for a long dead motorcycle brand but hey, I'm sure they appreciate your support.

Having sold my last bike in 2013 and only recently re-entered, I have a weird timewarp going on in my head. I remember when the Buells were brand new, and I was infatuated with the Uly at introduction. It's crazy to think the whole company has been dead for 13 years now.

Then again, I guess this is just "welcome to getting old". My Roadcrafter is 20 years old...
