    XB12Scg Check Engine Lamp

    Hi Guys,
Running an XB12 Scg 2008, its new to me so I dont have any diagnostic tools yet, can you recommend the best to use but at the same time something easy I am not a computer wizard.

Also does this bike come with a diagnostic plug as standard, I found something under the seat towards the back on the right hand side as you stand behind the bike that looks like it might be an ECM plug, its a water tight rubber housing with a 4 pin connector at the bottom of it, does that sound right?

I need to find out why the amber CEL is staying on all the time, it used to go off sometimes but the last few days its coming back on after the 4 second check and staying on so afraid to use it, the bike starts well and runs ok but because its stopped going off I feel there could be potential danger, all comments welcome.
    Thanks.

That plug is where you would plug in a diagnostic tool. I would recommend a Buelltooth ECM Interface adapter which can connect to any android device via Bluetooth.

    You can find them here:
    https://www.rev-mo.com/product-page/ecm-interface

You can then download the ECMDroid app onto your android device and connect to the adapter plugged into your bike. The software will do many things but most importantly will display current and historical CEL codes.

    Hope that helps

Sir: What you described is indeed the diagnostics plug for your Buell ECM. Click link below...go to my old screen name of User_Deleted...and carefully read and follow instructions. Will allow you to find out what stored trouble codes are active and historical in your 2008 ECM. Only for diagnostics...no provision to clear the codes unless you have the diagnostic tools to do same. FIFTY clear run cycles with the existing code gremlin exorcised will clear each code.
