Just ordered some NGK Iridium plugs but then I got to thinking(not good when your drinking wine on a snowy day). Do these make the ignition coil work harder since they work at a higher firing voltage? I know in my
Ford hot rod days you were better off using conventional plugs unless you had an aftermarket ignition system. Should I just stay with good old fashion plugs?

Don't be fooled by bullsh*t that you might have stumbled across while possibly doing spark plug research. Iridium plugs, simply put, are "gentler" on modern ignition systems than conventional center electrode plugs. And when installed in any Buell XB model, history has shown they give a very slight improvement in crank-to-start times, plug longevity, enhanced throttle response. The improvements are subtle but do exist.
NGK DCPR8EIX typically recommended and work well. 9's are one heat range colder and also work well in most all applications. Money well spent.
I have been running E3 plugs since December, and so far they have been good during the winter, even though it will be 70 ° today. So I can say they have been good winter and Spring.
I just put a set of 10R12X plugs in my “Ulysses”.

I was always told on a Sportster "a quart out, a quart in".
But AFTER READING THE SERVICE BOOK AND MEASURING THE LEVEL PROPERLY, I've found it closer to about 28oz. All 32oz seemed to make it shift a little more clunky and harder to find neutral.
Formula + is my flavor of choice.
On my S1, with the Barnett clutch, I ran B&M Trick Shift (non-synthetic) and I thought it shifted OK, but the guy I sold it to later told me its the smoothest shifting Buell transmission he's ever had.
