    Go the one to two sizes over stock boring - having the cyl - center honed by machine guide - get a hi-comp piston - 10.5 or 11.0 from any of the engine kit groups, Nallin, NHRS, Millinium, Axtell, S&S, etc. - also order a stage 2 head with the extras put in the head listed below - as well as Total seal rings, or head work can be handled the other of two ways - if you know of a good shop that does head work -go with them, go with a lot bigger intake valve and a little bigger exhaust valve, 3to 5 angle port and polish for breathing, a little flow bench clean up and clearancing, Ti valves, SS seats, stepped guides, premium seals, heavy duty ti springs, enlarged oil passage hole, heavy duty rockers, Ti push rods in the proper size, Top & Bottom end rebuild gasket set, cam set, 580 cam - front set - heavy duty cam bearings, SE HD oil pump gear and gasket, SE programmable ignition or a Crane cams ignition with a modified timing cup - set to 5 curve and 7500 rpms - the SE will be set for 2 and the Crain has to have an extra hole cut about 180 degree away for the extra spark - lol - this does make tachs cheaper - you can program either though, but i'd only do so with a dyno on hand, with the Crain Cams programmable soft and hardware - my intake is a CV40 Torque-stack fitted with a stack filter, with carb spring suports, the carb has a Dial-A-Jet set at minimum, jetted at 45/155 and needle shimmed at 0.05 and the slide polished - response is nice - a poor mans Force exhaust - a Jardine Header - using the stock front lower header mounting hardware, attached - uncut - to a D&D Blast Exhaust can - still 200 bucks cheaper than a Force was when they where on the market and almost as powerfull with a world more reliability - air-screw 3 1/4 turns out.
    Some good shopping could bring this in from 1000 to 2000 max - all this would turn your Blast into Mr. Toads wild ride and a great start into the dark side - add rear-sets, Works suspension and you are very deep indead - lol

    Thanks for the write-up. My wife almost traded her 2000 blast in on a new one yesterday but decided not to if we pulled her engine at the end of the season and rebuilt it for more power. She's quickly outgrowing the stock power and wouldn't want to wait 2 years for the warentee to end. I'm saving this post to make sure I have all the basics when it is time but I'm sure I will be hitting you up with some questions once we are elbow deep into the rebuild.

    No problem - the only difference between the set up described and what I'm running now is the cam - the B70 - equiv. to the SE550 but more torque and a little more agressive - a minny version to the 580 - and that is only a matter of time - probably when I put the motor into the XB frame - any cam hotter than the 580 starts to really wear on the motor, and as it is the 580 can wear fast as well - with only upgraded parts bringing it back to near stock rebuild times for wear - Ti, SS, and stepped guides. The cams higher than this bring you into race on sunday, rebuild on monday mode which can be fun but undependable for near daily riding/weekend riding - as it is my black bike only gets ridden once a week and then on the week ends it puts in at least a hundred miles - closer to two, my daily driver red bike gets all the interesting testing done to it though because I ride it almost all week long commuting - to work - both bikes are going strong now and I'm quite pleased with them.
    For stopping - I'd also recommend Galfer 108 Sinstered pads - always firm without being grabby and no fade through their whole life. Always good to be able to stop well when you can go faster.

    After numerous searches I came across this Forum, I am planning to build (assemble) a Street Tracker using a Blast motor/trans, in searching out performance equip. I have been advised the Blast has a different stroke than my Sportsters, and so the CC's are limited to around 600
    As EXBLAST appears imformative, is there anyone that can/or does increase the stroke to obtain what is 1/2 of a Sportster 88" kit

    you want power to come out of that little 492cc and you do not alot of money?? Then take off the 100 tooth rear and get your self the 95 tooth and you will fly past those 600gsx-r my 05 blast over $500 in belts
