Brought my 12r to get an oil change and get an oil leak looked at. (I'd typically do this myself, but it's 115 degrees outside).

Oil change cost me $92, and the oil leak was a dry rot oil line that they "comped".

While I was in there paying I noticed they have new '08 1125r marked down to $8995. So I tell them to hook a brother up.

Guy runs numbers, but doesn't want to take my bike in on a trade. Tells me it's not a "look he can sell". I say "that's nuts, you sell these bikes new, how do you not sell a used model?!"

Bottom line, I walked out cause they were nuts.

Well, they called me today, now they want me to go back so they can "see what they can do".

    ugh....

$8995 doesnt sound that great to me. I've heard people finding 09s for that. Tell them you want 4500 for your bike and the 1125 for $8500.

Just go in and see what they can do. Depending on the amount of the trade it just may be worth your while.

Recently I went to buy a clutch cable at my local HD Dealership and while waiting for the part I inquired on a deal for a new 1125R.

I was offered $4500 for my '05 XB9SX on a trade-in , "BUT" the listed price for the 1125R was in upwards of something like 11-12k, so I told them, "No, but thank you", paid for my part and left.

Yea, I don't NEED a new bike right now. So I'm just going in there to see if I can get them to bend over for me.

This will be my third bike I buy there. So who knows, maybe they'll throw me a bone. (But I doubt they will).

Worst case scenario I get a free bottle of water and tell them to kick rocks.
