I beat the holy hell out of my 03 XB9R from 5000 to 16,000 miles and never had any engine problems. Many of those miles was hard riding and wheelies.
I have an 03 XB9r with 10,000 miles I have only put 900 on it myself. I bought it from a 60 yr old guy that did all the break in and documented everything. But latley I have a knock. Is there a weak point in the 900's?
Well lately I have been running my bike pretty hard.
I went to the drag strip last Friday, and have been doing the whole wheelie thing latley. I only reve the motor to 3500 when I lift the front and at most hit 6000 rpm and not for more than a couple seconds when lifting it 2nd.
My question is, Is the motor that weak that you cant run it hard at all without doing the damage? I run full sythetic oil and it is changed out every 1500-2000 miles. And I just changed it less than 400 miles ago. I dont feel I have been running it into the dirt but is the 900 that weak?

I guess I will have to strip off the bull**** and ride it without a helmet so I can hear it really good to hear where the noise is coming from exactly.
Other wise I will just drive it into the grownd. No i will bring it somewhere first to cut down on repair costs but I would like to fix it myself if itsnt something internal, but I am sure it is.
